Abigail is one of the 12 marriage candidates in Stardew Valley. She lives at Pierre's General Store with her parents Pierre and Caroline, loves adventure, the occult, and her flute. She has a surprisingly short list of truly loved gifts, which makes friendship fast and easy to grind once you know what to bring.
Her birthday is Fall 13. Always give a loved gift on that day for an 8x friendship multiplier, which works out to +640 points from a single Amethyst.

Best early-game pick: Amethyst. It drops constantly from mining floors 1-39, costs nothing, and gives the full 80 points. Stock several and you'll max friendship in a few seasons.

Avoid these completely. Disliked gifts cost -20 points and hated gifts cost -40 points.
Disliked: Sugar, Wild Horseradish, all regular eggs (Dinosaur Egg is neutral), most fruits, most vegetables.
Hated: Clay or Holly.
Where to Find Abigail (Schedule by Season)
She moves around quite a bit. Here's where to intercept her each season.
Spring:
- Most mornings: the bridge east of Pierre's shop
- Spring 4: Harvey's Clinic (health checkup)
- Fridays: Stardrop Saloon
- Sundays: the graveyard
Summer:
- Mornings: train tracks area, then Mountain Lake
- Fridays: Saloon with Sam and Sebastian
Fall:
- Mondays: the beach pier
- Most other days: near the Bus Stop
- Fridays: Saloon
Winter:
- Often at the Carpenter's Shop with Sebastian
- Wednesdays 6pm-10pm: graveyard

Rainy days (any season): She stays indoors at home or the Saloon. Head to Pierre's or the Saloon to find her easily.
Tip: If you're struggling to find her, check Pierre's General Store between 9am and 12pm. She starts most non-rainy days there before heading out.
How to Romance and Marry Abigail
- Reach 8 hearts of friendship.
- Buy a bouquet from Pierre's for 200g and give it to her to start dating her.
- Have the Mermaid's Pendant (purchase from the Old Mariner on a rainy day for 5,000g, requires farmhouse upgrade first).
- Give her the Mermaid's Pendant to propose.
After marriage she moves to your farm, helps with chores, and occasionally heads to the Saloon or mines. As a spouse, she may give you gifts including bombs, which fits her personality perfectly.
Heart Events and Best Dialogue Choices
Each milestone unlocks a cutscene that develops her character. Pick the right dialogue where it matters.
2 Hearts (Pierre's General Store, any day except Saturday): She asks you to play Journey of the Prairie King with her.
4 Hearts (Mountain, 12pm-7pm on a rainy day, not Winter): When she asks about the rain, say "Enjoying the weather" for bonus affection.
6 Hearts (town, 9pm-midnight on a non-rainy night): You catch her practicing sword moves in the graveyard. Answer "Yes, and it's exciting!" for the best outcome.
8 Hearts (letter event, then Pierre's 8pm-10pm): She uses a spirit board to express her feelings for you.
10 Hearts (Mines or Quarry Mine, 5pm-midnight): You must already be dating her (bouquet after 8 hearts). She joins you in the mines.
14 Hearts (post-marriage): She plays her flute for you at the farm.
Tips to Build Friendship with Abigail Quicker
Gift twice a week, every week. With Amethysts (+80 each), that's +160 points per week. 10 hearts requires 2,500 points, achievable in roughly 4 months without even counting conversations.
Talk to her every day. Each conversation gives +20 friendship points. Combined with 2 weekly gifts, daily chats meaningfully speed up the process.
Don't miss her birthday (Fall 13). A loved gift on her birthday gives 8x the normal points. One Amethyst equals +640 points, roughly 4 weeks of double-gifting in a single interaction.
Mine early and often. Amethysts are by far the easiest loved gift to accumulate. Keep a few in your chest specifically for Abigail.
Watch the calendar. You cannot build friendship during festivals, and villagers inside buildings you can't enter won't receive gifts. Know her schedule so you don't waste a gifting day.
Use geodes. Omni Geodes from the mines often crack open into Amethysts. Crack them at Clint's Blacksmith (100g each) when you don't have a direct Amethyst supply.
