How to add an admin to a Valheim server

You can add yourself as an admin on your Valheim server by adding your player ID to the adminlist file. Learn how to do it step by step.

You can add an admin to a Valheim server in just a few steps.
This will help using the valheim server admin commands such ad "ban", "unban", "kick" or even "save".

Launch your Valheim server
Navigate to the "Console" page
Join your server

You will see a line in your console looking like "PlayFab socket with remote ID ... received local Platform ID"
This line will be followed by your player ID. It could start by "Xbox_123..." and more numbers if you play using the Xbox app, you might get something else if you play on steam.

Copy your player ID
Navigate to the "Files" page
Navigate in your server folders, following this order :
.config -> unity3d -> IronGate -> Valheim
Go in the adminlist.txt file and paste your player ID
Restart your server and become an administrator !
