Who Is Developing Palworld Mobile?
Palworld Mobile isn't being built by Pocketpair themselves. Instead, the original developer has partnered with Krafton, the South Korean publisher best known for PUBG and the life-simulation game inZOI. Krafton also handled the mobile port of PUBG and was a success. It makes them a good choice for this kind of adaptation.
According to Krafton, the mobile version won't be a 1:1 port of the PC experience. The team has stated they intend to "faithfully reinterpret the main fun elements of the original work to suit the mobile environment". Hinting at redesigned controls, a new skill system, and what they describe as "strategic combat" made for mobile devices. Core gameplay pillars (hunting Pals, survival mechanics, and crafting) will remain central to the experience.
A Closed Alpha Was Already Held
Before any global release, Palworld Mobile went through a closed alpha test in December 2025, announced at the G-STAR 2025 Global Game Exhibition held in Busan, South Korea (November 13 to 16, 2025). This was the game's first public showcase, confirming the project was well into development.
The catch? The alpha was exclusively available in Japan and South Korea, leaving the rest of the world watching from the sidelines. Registrations were open on the official site until November 26, 2025. While limited in scope, this regional test was an important signal: the game was playable, and development was progressing faster than many expected. So all good news so far.
It's Already on the Mac App Store
Here's something you might have missed: Palworld is already listed on the
Apple App Store, but only for Mac computers, not iPhones
or
iPads. The mt=12 parameter in the URL confirms it's a macOS listing rather than an iOS app.
This is a useful indicator that Pocketpair and Krafton are actively working within Apple's ecosystem, which may smooth the path toward an eventual iOS release when the time comes.
When Will It Launch Globally?
The global release of Palworld Mobile is confirmed for 2026, but no precise date has been announced by Pocketpair or Krafton as of now. The game's worldwide release is dependent on official announcements from the developers, so the community is waiting for it.
That said, we can make an educated guess based on the timeline:
- The closed alpha took place in December 2025 in Japan and South Korea
- A regional alpha typically precedes a wider beta by 3 to 6 months
- Major mobile launches in Asia often align with Q3 or Q4 to maximize player engagement around school holidays and year-end periods
Our estimate: a global release sometime between Q3 and Q4 2026, most likely around September to November 2026. If Krafton follows a typical rollout pattern (closed alpha, open beta, soft launch in Asia, then global release), there's a plausible path to a late 2026 worldwide release date. An announcement at a gaming event like Tokyo Game Show (September 2026) wouldn't be surprising at all.
What We Don't Know Yet
A few key questions remain unanswered:
- Business model: Will it be free-to-play with microtransactions, or a premium purchase? Pocketpair has pledged no live service model for the PC/console version, but that commitment may not extend to the mobile port handled by Krafton.
- iOS and Android availability: Both platforms seem likely targets, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
- Cross-platform features: Whether mobile players will interact with PC/console worlds is unknown. For the current PC and console crossplay rules, see our Palworld crossplay guide.
Stay Tuned
The Palworld Mobile game is shaping up to be one of the biggest mobile gaming releases in 2026. With a closed alpha already completed and a global release window confirmed, the next step is an official announcement from Pocketpair, likely accompanied by a proper trailer and a more specific date.
