1. Gather resources

The book craft needs 3 paper and 1 leather. You will need to find sugar cane in order to craft paper. Then, a piece of leather is required, you can find some by hunting cows.
Find sugar cane
You should easily find sugar cane near water. Make sure to always keep some sugar cane to make a farm and never have to explore to find more.
Once you have 3 pieces, place them horizontally in a crafting table to get 3 pieces of paper.
Hunt for leather
The easiest way to get leather is to find and hunt cows. You will obtain 0 to 2 leather for each cow. Make sure to collect enough leather, you will need one for every book.
2. Place ingredients in the crafting table
Place your paper in a horizontal or vertical row of the crafting table. Then, place a leather anywhere next to the row of paper.
3. Move to book to your inventory
